The oldest trick in the book 🙄 Towards the end of 2022, I wrote about toxic gym culture in Muay Thai and other martial arts. Lots of people responded with their own experiences, showing just how common toxic gyms can be. Honestly, 2022 felt like a very stagnant, 'nothing' year for me.  Wanchalong P.K Saenchai Gym has posted an apology following backlash to the video he'd posted showing him groping women at a party. Wanchalong PK Saenchai Gym recently posted a video of himself sexually harassing and groping women at a social gathering. This time three years ago, I organised a women's Muay Thai workshop as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. A common misconception about sexual violence is that 'real' victims fight back. Many of us assume that if it happens to us, that's how we'll respond. In reality, that's rarely how it works. Yesterday, my friend @jommi_yommi and I gave a lecture at the Panyapiwat Institute of Management on gender inequality and gender-based violence in Thailand. đŸš© Here are some more signs of toxic gyms, taken from my latest article.
