HeForShe University Tour
I was a guest speaker on UN Women’s HeForShe University Tour, along with several other survivor activists sharing personal stories of gender-based violence. We spent a week visiting several universities in Bangkok campaigning for change, conducting panel talks and facilitating workshops with students to discuss solutions to gender inequality on their campuses.

Dragonfly360 Wo=Men Summit
I was a speaker at Dragonfly360, Southeasteast Asia’s first-ever gender equality summit. I spoke about the importance of gender equality and the elimination of gender-based violence in Muay Thai, shairng my own personal story. I also took part in a panel discussion with Melissa Alvarado, UN Women Asia Pacific’s programme manager for ending violence against women; Cindy Sirinya, founder of Don’t Tell Me How to Dress; and Sia Kukaewkasem, founder of Freedom Restoration Project.

Human Library
The Human Library is an event concept originating from Copenhagen in which people act as ‘books’, telling personal stories to break down stereotypes and challenge stigma. I took part in the organisation of Bangkok’s first Human Library in collaboration with UN Women. I also took part as a speaker, sharing my story, ‘Life As a Female Fighter’.

I was a speaker on a panel talk on the experiences and inclusion of women and LGBTQIA+ people in Muay Thai. This was part of a queer-inclusive interclub event, where fighters were matched by height, weight and experience rather than gender.

The British Embassy of Bangkok
Sexual Assault Survivor Handling Conference for Thai Police Officers
I was a speaker at a conference to train Thai police officers in responding to cases of sexual violence, held by the British Embassy in Bangkok. I talked about my experience as a survivor, how I responded, and what I needed at the time. The conference also featured a workshop by experts from the Glasgow Clyde Rape Crisis Centre, in which police officers, NGO staff and counsellors discussed survivor-centred approaches.

In this online seminar for the Ann Craft Trust’s Safeguarding Adults Week, I discussed how to take a collaborative, multi-layered and survivor-centred approach to the prevention of abuse in sport, drawing from my work in Muay Thai.

I was a presenter at the GUARD Project educational module for safeguarding officers in National Olympic Committees and regional federations from 8 countries. I shared recommendations for survivor-centred safeguarding approaches based on my work, research and lived experience.

World Muay Thai Angels, The Sports Authority of Thailand
Muay Thai Angels – Women’s Muay Thai Tournament
In 2016, I was a short-term consultant for Galaxy Work Group, the organisation behind the World Muay Thai Angels promotion at the Sports Authority of Thailand. WMA was the first all-women’s Muay Thai tournament of its kind in Thailand, with 1 million baht and a car awarded to the winner. My role was to advise the managing director on how to promote women’s Muay Thai to a global audience, recruit the international fighters, and assist in the organisation and promotion of their additional Muay Thai League men’s event.

Developing a Safeguarding Accountability Framework for Mega Sporting Events
I was invited to contribute to a two-day consultation as an independent expert, along with safeguarding experts from FIFA, The Centre for Sport and Human Rights, Commonwealth Sport and more.

Survivor Consultation on Global Safe Sport Policy
I was one of 11 athlete-survivors from 9 countries who took part in a consultation at UNESCO HQ in Paris. We gave recommendations for survivor-centred policies and practices, which will directly inform global safe sport policy standards.

Gender-Based Violence in Thailand
I have conducted in-person and online lectures on gender-based violence in Thailand with International Relations students, in collaboration with Thai activists Jomtian Jansomrag and Wipaphan Wongsawang. These lectures covered gender roles, rape culture, sex education, as well as the development of women’s Muay Thai and the specifics of gender-based violence in the sport.

For International Women’s Day, I was invited to give a lecture to students at Bangkok’s NIST International School on gender inequality, rape culture, and challenging misogyny.

MAISI, KU LEuven
An Athlete-Survivor Perspective on Safe Sport Advocacy and Research
I conducted an online lecture for the MAISI Master of Arts in Sports Ethics & Integrity programme as part of the Safe Sport week of their Integrity, Equality, Inclusion & Safe Sport module. I shared some of my story as an athlete-survivor and advocate in Muay Thai and how it led me to enrol in the MAiSI programme to research women’s experiences of sexual violence in the sport. I also discussed how to conduct safe sport research in a trauma-informed way, and the protocols I put in place both for my participants and for myself as a researcher with lived experience. I finished off with some takeaways for survivor-centred communication and engagement.

Bangkok Rising
Charity Women’s Sports Workshops
As a committee member of volunteer-led feminist group Bangkok Rising, I organised an facilitated calendars of events for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This included women’s Muay Thai workshops & powerlifting workshops. I formed partnerships with sports organisations and federations to allow 100% of proceeds to be donated to Freedom Restoration Project, a grassroots NGO suporting survivors of gender-based violence on the Thai-Myanmar border.

Muay Thai Class for Survivors of Violence
In 2021, I partnered with Survivors Talk Thailand, the first Thai-language support group for survivors of gender-based violence, to organise a free Muay Thai class as a therapeutic and community-building event. The class was led by Thai women fighters, with case workers specialising in gender-based violence joining to support participants. We concluded the session with a discussion to process and decompress.

Decathlon Thailand
Amateur Muay Thai and Boxing Fight Events
As the communications manager for Decathlon’s Muay Thai brand, Waikru, I organised, facilitated and promoted several amateur combat sports events. The aim of these fight events was to increase the accessibility of combat sports in local communities, and encourage more practitioners to compete.
