I was recently interviewed for the Safeguarding Matters podcast by the Ann Craft Trust.

The Ann Craft Trust is a UK charity which works to minimise the risk of abuse to adults by providing training, creating resources, and contributing to research. While the charity works across all sectors, it has a team that specifically works on tackling safeguarding adults in sport.

I spoke to Head of Safeguarding Adults in Sport Emma Gibson about my journey from athlete to sports ethicist, why I set up Under the Ropes, and what led me to focus on safeguarding in Muay Thai. We also discussed an upcoming free online seminar that I’ll be hosting in November as part of their 2025 Safeguarding Adults Week. This year, their theme is prevention. My seminar, ‘A Holistic Approach to the Prevention of Abuse in Sport‘, will focus on the importance of tackling the issue on multiple layers in a collaborative way, using insights from my master’s research on sexual harassment and abuse in Muay Thai, my lived experience as a survivor of sexual violence in sport, and my studies as a sports ethicist.

Listen to the podcast episode, titled ‘Eliminating Gender-Based Violence in Sport’ on the Ann Craft Trust website or on Spotify.
